In a cross-fade, we show the Nuremberg prison area (area behind the court building with “Saal 600”. Currently: 8/2017 and 1946 – about 71 years later.

The recording in 2017 was made on the third floor of the court building (from inside the museum´s exhibition. The record from 1946 probably one floor above; in the attic area.

View from the 3rd floor: On the left a preserved prison-wing. On the right, the newly built and visually ugly new prison buildings from the 1980s onwards. The red circle marks the former location of the prison hall (see picture below). On October 16th, 1946, the ten death sentences were executed by hanging there.

The same angle of view with an overlap of the old prison wings. In the center of the picture (front) the rprison-wing, in which the defendants were accommodated. Down the wooden connecting passage to the court building. To the right, in the red circle, the former prison hall – place of execution.
